President Trump and California Gov. Gavin Newsom met on the tarmac of the Los Angeles International Airport on Friday when the president arrived and committed to working together on wildfire receovery.

California lawmakers unanimously approved $2.5 billion to aid wildfire cleanup and recovery in the Los Angeles area Thursday morning just 10 days after Gov. Gavin Newsom called for it in a special session.

California will spend $2.5 billion to help the Los Angeles area recover from recent wildfires under a relief package approved by state lawmakers and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
