"Adding Daniel Jones just gives [the Vikings] more insurance behind Sam Darnold," Benjamin said. "You never should feel bad about adding quarterback insurance. Daniel Jones is a guy that, at 27, he's got over 70 career starts, if you throw in a couple of playoff games."
Minnesota missed the playoffs last season, and following the 2022 season, it was Jones that ended their run on Wild Card Weekend. His 301 yards and two touchdowns earned him a sizable payday and put the nail in the coffin for defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.
The Vikings finished the 2024 regular season with a 14-3 record, second-best in the NFC, though they earned only a wild card spot in the playoffs after losing a division-sealing game to the Lions in Week 18. They'll play the Los Angeles Rams in the wild card round.
