India's Bajaj Auto reported a smaller-than-expected rise in third-quarter profit on Tuesday, hurt by lower domestic sales of its motorcycles and three-wheelers, while higher sales of its margin-diluting electric scooters also weighed.

The auto major reported 8 percent on-year growth in both topline and bottomline, with net profit at Rs 2,196 crore.

Bajaj Auto's growth in the third quarter of FY 2025 has been fueled by the success of Chetak Electric and the brand's partnership with Triumph Motorcycles achieving a 6 per cent revenue increase.

Bajaj Auto has posted a 3.3% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its net profit for the third quarter ending December 31, 2024. The company's net profit increased to ₹2,108.7 crore from ₹2,042 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal year.

The company said it sold a total of 12,24,472 units in the third quarter, a 2 per cent increase over 12,00,997 units in the same period of last fiscal.

Results: Pune-based two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto Ltd on Tuesday reported an XX% year-on-year surge in its consolidated net profit (attributable to owners of the company) for the fiscal's third quarter ended December (Q3FY25) to ₹XX crore.
